  By Ryan Germ I wasn’t planning on writing anymore articles, just doing videos from now on. But I was playing some Football Manager today letting Spotify shuffle play. Then I heard this song by this band called Lament. It blew me away. It was super 2000’s metalcore but the good kind without the overproduced cleans, and ever since Balmora dropped a god awful record, and then had their guitarist outed as a predator I’ve been waiting for a band to fill that void. So I haven’t heard any songs beyond the title track so I’m going into this only slightly less blind than you dear reader. Now let’s dive in. The first track is called Memories of Yesterday and 10 seconds in they have my attention with these atmospheric leads. It goes into a side to side part with vocals that kind of remind me of Timmy from The S.E.T. Then it goes into a fuckin nasty breakdown. Then the drums switch onto the hat and I love that shit. By Ryan Germ   I feel like HC is reaching a point where people are getting sick of the same 0–0-1 chugs over and over again by the most cookie cutter beatdown bands and we’re FINALLY reaching a HC punk revival. We’re seeing Haywire leading that charge but there’s also End It and Start Today blowing up too, and that’s not to mention rising stars like Suicide Eyes, my homies in Vulture Raid, and fast rising South FL youth crew outfit Barricade. Let me tell ya, Barricade has the spirit (pun absolutely intended). Back in my Lorecord days me and bassist Matt or Zucc depending on how you know him first met each other. I was 9 or 10 and I was super into music sim games on my old iPad, there was this one Aussie/NZ one I downloaded and I heard this sick band in that game. Said band being none other than New Zealand indie punx Street Chant. Now despite Scotty D doing the garage punk artist spotlights I’m gonna steal that because before really diving into HC I was a huge garage punk kid. This originally was gonna be an album spotlight on their debut LP, Means, but considering how I’m in non credit (basically my schools equivalent of fuckin jail) and I only have my liked songs at my disposal I’m gonna talk about those.
